Aptive HTG Wins Contract to Assess VA Progress in Meeting Women Veterans’ Health Care Needs

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has awarded Aptive HTG a five-year contract to help meet certain requirements of the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D., Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020, or PL 116-315, to ensure access for women Veterans to VA health care and benefits.

Under the firm-fixed price contract, Aptive will assess progress in meeting women Veterans’ health care needs by providing VHA’s newly created Office of Women’s Health (OWH) with strategic planning, policy research, data collection and reporting, project management support and program evaluation expertise.

The tasks we will perform include analyzing:

• Women Veterans’ use of VA health care;
• Women Veterans’ access to gender-specific services such as women’s primary care and gynecology through non-VA medical providers;
• Health care accessibility, treatment options and VA staffing for women Veterans; and
• The number of full-time and part-time women’s health care providers at every VA facility and whether their duties include training other providers on the needs of women Veterans.
• Aptive will also produce an annual report, staffing report and report on the Women Veteran Program Manager Program to submit to Congress.

This task order falls within the Integrated Healthcare Transformation (IHT) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Under this IDIQ, Aptive HTG and IHT partners support VHA across a variety of areas as needs arise, including health care modernization and transformation, financial management business transformation, analytics and mental health and suicide prevention.
